Excellent question. You see, I am very old. When I was much younger, nightmare didn’t exist. Back then I didn’t care to think about the suffering people went through when I fed off them. To me they were food, I didn’t stop to consider that they suffered in some great capacity. I didn’t him back then. I was always well fed. As I grew older and my moral compass developed I saw what I was doing and promptly stopped. That is when he showed up, as many may know I fast, and sup lightly on dreams during the night. Nightmares are the must filling, but I refuse to give them in most cases.
He arose out of, perhaps, a survival instinct. I am sure, that without him I would wither away given time. I am always my most powerful on and after a new moon. He is the embodiment of my instincts. He seeks one thing and that is to spread nightmares, to feed himself. In turn, feeding me.
I suppose I could get rid of him, if I gave the occasional nightmare. Then again, I’ve lived with him so long now I doubt that would do anything.

Yes he can. At least, when the new moon sets and he regains control. We aren’t two different people, I am him and he is me. We share the same thoughts, he would deny it but it’s true. I am what he would be if free of his morality. I only exist, because he refuses to fulfil his purpose. Hahaha. My actions are dull compared to those he could accomplish. As much as it…pains me, he is the better.
Also, sweets aren’t my thing. Keep your confections to yourself.

Salutation dreamers. With that last question answered I’ve finally cleared out my inbox. It has been a pleasure answering your questions so far, and I apologize for my unschelduled absence. I had some…things to take care of and now that they are settled I will have much more time to answer and more inquires. That is, if there are anymore. I, and by extension, nightmare am available for any further questions. Please do not hesitate to send anymore my way.

Or, hell, send ‘em my way. I’m ten times more exciting than that old stick in the mud. I get bored of the same old nightmares sometimes too, I like to…shake it up sometimes. I welcome suggestions, though I doubt seriously any of yours will surpass my level of…ingenuity when it comes to things like that. hahahaha.
Why do you have your 'hair' cover your eye (partially)? Doesn't it get in the way of your eyesight?
I don’t do it intentionally. That’s just how it falls. It doesn’t really hinder my eyesight, afterall it’s more like smoke than actual hair. I like that it doesn’t really have any weight either. It doesn’t grow any longer either. I couldn’t cut it even if I’d tried. ha

Fergzilla asked - Darkrai, I’ve heard that your kind don’t close their eyes when they sleep. How is this so?
Oh well you’d be right that I don’t close my eyes when I sleep. I don’t really sleep in a traditional manner as I’ve mentioned a few times before. When I “sleep” I dont actually go to sleep. I drift from dream to dream in the dream world and just, kind of, siphon a bit of energy from each dream I enter and leave before I affect them. What happens to my body when I enter the dream world? I cant be sure, but if someone was watching me perhaps that how I’d look, motionless with an unblinking stare. I suppose that could be unnerving yes. haha.
Oh, another like-minded Pokemon? Tell me, Nightmare... do you enjoy anything else besides torturing others with your vast bad dreams?

oh, I do sometimes. Nightmare can get…pretty far in one night, it’s surprising. I once woke up in a cabin on a cruise ship. I had no idea where I was in relation to my island until the memories of the previous night started to resurface. That’s one reason I don’t get lost often. I’m able to retrace his “steps” with the vague memories I retain. I sometimes wake up back in Alamos town, I know my way to and from the city quite well by now.
